Samsung indeed, the 57" G95NC Odyssey Neo G9 Gaming monitor. I’ll happily take tips to get it more stable!
G95NC monitor is also driving me insane, especially the USB hub that seems to randomly turn off / on (any tips?). To be fair I’m trying to use a KBM + webcam, but I’m sure a KVM would work so much nicer than the in-built USB switching
Does it look like the end-of-year estimate is still on track? I’d love to buy a 2-computer 3-monitor dp2.x kvm and I have a work benefit that’ll reimburse me for the majority of the cost, but I have to use it by March next year! A 1.4 kvm would technically meet my needs today, but I’m hesitant to pick one up as my current needs are close to the limit of dp1.4, so that doesn’t leave much room for future-proofing!
I just recieved a Navceker 4K 240Hz DP 2.1 KVM Switch today - Obviuosly it was not a real DP 2.1 switch… simply a DP 1.4 switch with fake marketting and labels.
If I remember you guys are in the states… but really hope that you will have an EU solution as well. I can only hope.
Is the end of the year still the time frame for updated Kvm’s. As im planning a desk setup where I want to connect my work laptop and PC to 3 monitors but would love to be using the latest dp/hdmi for it.
At the moment my plan is to get the 3 monitor + usb c (with pd) kvm. To use thunderbolt 4 from my laptop and 3 dp cables from gpu (one with dp to usb c adapter) to the kvm then 2 outputs from the kvm for my left and right monitors. With the last output going to a dp/hdmi switch so i can add my ps5 into the mix allowing me to display my pc and ps5 between the centre monitor and a tv. But would rather this be in the latest hdmi/dp to future proof it a little
I know this doesn’t apply to everyone’s setups, but for me, it’s really only the primary monitor that’s pushing the boundary of DP1.4, which I plan to upgrade eventually to something that would require more bandwidth. I don’t see any reason that my secondary monitors, even when upgraded, would need anywhere near that (I don’t see a need for 4k 120hz, let alone more, on my browser or discord monitors). If it would improve the available stock or even reduce the cost, would it be feasible to make KVMs that have a single DP2.1 switch alongside the DP1.4s? For example, the one I’d look for is the “Combo USB-C Power Delivery & DisplayPort 1.4 KVM - Triple Monitor” but where the top DP1.4 is instead a DP2.1. Alternatively, another thought is modular DP1.4 models that can control or be controlled by an added DP2.1 switch. I hadn’t seen anyone ask, and I don’t think I’m alone in just having the one primary display that I expect to outgrow DP1.4. If it’s not worth it for technical or logistical reasons, then I totally understand, just a thought buzzing around in my head.
No update that I know of. It is actively being worked on, though.
Well, all I can say is, Santa owes me something pretty cool then! All I wanted for christmas…
Love hearing that this is being worked on! Now I have something to save up for next year
