I have to say it had absolutely no decent games in the first 2 years of it's life, but now it has 3D World, Windwaker HD, and coming up Mario Kart 8, SSB, and a flagship Zelda game, it is looking tempting right about now, but do any of you guys have it, do you like it?
And to me most importantly do the games run at 60 FPS?
You need something that can get below 17 and a half minutes on the dolphin POVRay cpu benchmark just to emulate regular wii games at full speed
here are some benchmark results for various cpu's https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AunYlOAfGABxdFQ0UzJyTFAxbzZhYWtGcGwySlRFa1E#gid=0
assuming that the wii u cpu is atleast 5 times faster than the wii's(have no idea if that accurate or not), i dont think its likely that wii u games will be "emulatable" with decent performance any time soon.
The Wii U is the only compelling console to emerge from the latest generation. But the money I would of spent on buying one, I bought a graphics card instead...
I have a Wii U, i bought mostly for the kids but will say it really does have some fun features. I have always love Mario Kart so that probably be my next console game purchase.
I say it's worth it. Then again, I also got the ps4 strictly because of final fantasy and kingdom hearts. I haven't gotten the U yet, but I do want one. First on my priorities tho is getting my workstation upgraded.
I love mine. All I know about my Wii U is that it plays like a dream and the games are just fun. If the fps is 30 or 60 I don't care, all I care about is if I enjoy the games.... and I enjoy the games :)
The Wii U has just about got to the point where it's worth the price. I'll probably get one this year at some point. Sadly, the Vita has also got to the point where it's worth the price (I don't get why more people don't have one). I can't decide which to go with first!
