Any .net core / C# devs using Linux as main OS for development?

Hi there,

most of my daily work is in c#, currently almost all projects are on .net core (.net 5) without GUI so I was thinking about leaving Windows as my main dev OS and migrating to Linux. Probably Fedora.

Was just wandering if there are people in similar situation, what is your experience? Is it worth it? Windows version of Visual Studio is pretty damn productive environment, is Rider keeping up?

One tool I know I would miss is LINQPad…

I’ve been working with .net core services for the past six months or so in Linux using Rider. It’s been fine, but I’m still a noob when it comes to .net in general, so I probably don’t have as many Visual Studio based indoctrinations as most others do. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I think I would miss the full fat Visual Studio too much if I went to Linux on my work laptop, not that I have a choice.
