i'm building a rig for a friend, the budget is £210. here's what i've come up with so far. no need for a case, hard drive, or periphreals. here's what i've come up with so far:

as the tittle suggest, any ideas?
and, by the way i've looked at an apu but, the RAM needed is so much more expensive and the cpu itself isn't too much better
i think you cant do much more better then this for 210 pounds, maybe an athlon II X4 is about 20 pounds more expensive, but its a quadcore, but yeah then you go over the budget. ☺
An APU based system http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/SwVN
Could save a few pennies by not using the highest end APU
http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/SwZm more powerfull cpu same £££
the apu just wouldn't be as good as a 7770. thanks for that cooperman, i may go with that build, practically the same thing performance wise.

The intel is a real boost over the athlon and the mobo will allow for i3/i5/i7 upgrades maybe a better pick for the low budget starting point
Thanks. I don't trust synthetic benches though. Ii'll ask my friend if they want intel or amd, I think. They may upgrade the cpu and would definitley like the choice of an i3, i5, or i7. But, steamroller might be launched on am3+ so, i'll run it by him first. The intel definitley seems good here though

He can play most of the games with this and when he gets more money he can buy a discrete gpu
