Bitcoin qt can't sync, I downloaded the blocks be it still shows up as not being synced. Any suggestions? Also this isn't just a one time glitch it has happened alot, I have re-installed the wallet 5 times.

I use bitcoin QT and it took about 6 or 8 hours before it synced. Ive also noticed that the bar on the bottom dissapears sometimes so ive had to restart the program to see the progress. As far as a wallet tho ive heard there is some but ive also heard that theres online ones that aren't very secure so im a little iffy to try a different wallet.
