will have a go when I get home, something that simple shouldnt take too long
what file format do you need models exported as for ue?
thanks a lot, you are a life saver, the format is FBX.
made a start but I have to go to bed now as I am tired and I have a full day of work ahead of me tomorrow
question, the bit on the front of the mouth area, is that supposed to be an extrusion or slits (like for breathing).
Sorry I havent gotten very far, I only get an hour at most to do this stuff between work and stuff
edit: I will carry on with it tomorrow, it will get better as I go along... promise :D
dont worry, i feel kind of bad because i dont even pay you, but you kindly give me a hand, so thanks for that, and yeah those are extrusions for breathing.
Thanks again.
Also looks pretty good, because its simple but low poly as far i can see, way better than my attempt of making a 3d model lol.
looks funny and chubby, so good.
I wont be offended, tell me if there is anything you dont like and I will change it
this is for you, not for me.. :)
its still low poly, i just have it put in a sub division surface for now
ok, um just couple of arms on circule form with a thumb and thats it, kind of like a winter glove
looks really cool.
I love to do 3D Art/Design using engineering software. I have Unreal Engine 4 installed and made a little driving game that I had big ideas for. I have another completely unique IP (script and storyboards) that would make zillions if I could pull it off. I used to be a mechanical engineer and no matter what free design tools I try, I am always better using Parametric Technologies Corp - Creo. Creo used to be called Pro/Engineer and is for 3D solid modeling and simulation of parts and machines. In my last job I used it to design the steel and welds that supported at 20 ton Cirque du Soliel stage that flew around. That was hard. It should be possible for me to design 3D models of entire working machines or any type of model you need, and export them to Unreal. And now I mostly use it for virtual sculpture, Imaginary architecture, Photoshop and 3d printing. http://www.protosynth.biz/
I can help with 3D objects of a mechanical, transportation, environmental, background and set design, architectural, nature. A lot of stories have houses, trees, places, little steam engines that could as memorable characters. Creo can open / edit / save almost all 3D and 2D file formats. I'm going to try importing my latest to Unreal now and report back.
Let us see a few more of your characters please. I don't want to work on the same guy that @flazza did such a great job with. How about I do a cute robot? As a group effort maybe 1 Tek member can do 1 character. That way the characters in your game will have more different personalities?
lol, funny name
I imagined the roBot with katana's on his back and holding tanto's. KatanaBot became Katana Bob.
I like to do Pshop sketches of my vision to plan out my next steps and to get your input.
Do we get credit for this, is there a Tek Syndicate academic credit program?
Nice stuff U 2 ;-)
I was being sarcastic actually, OP is making us do their homework for him/her. Although, it's not a bad idea.
i don't even imagine the robot like a samurai or ninja, that's a pretty cool idea, althought they are too many swords, maybe just 2 tanto's and that's it, also maybe a big ass sword on the back like a Claymore.
You could also make the tanto's handle in shape of the hands or inside the arms.
Thanks @Cort_Byron, loving the designs.
Okay, I did not want 4 swords either. I tried to show before and after positions of the weapons. My main idea is to have weapons on his back with 2 tracks to slide the knife, gun, etc. down the back of the arms, past the elbow onto the hands. I think two Katana (small) swords would look cooler as opposed to one big Claymore, but any twinned weapon would work.
The antenna ('59 Cadillac taillight) on the back of the helmet probably won't be red but I would like it to swivel up (when searching) , fold back (when stealthy) and generally be the character's eyebrow emotion actor.
