Antergos without DE vs Arch

Antergos is an installer, and you can choose a DE during installation, or you can have no DE.
Whats the difference between an antergos system with no DE and a normal Arch install?

It has special antergos packagaes and repositories.

Its not as barebones basically.

Also has a GUI installer :D

So basically, if i want a system with easy installation but if i dont want the themes and icons that antergos adds, can i just install barebones with antergos and then, install a DE on my own, from the arch repositories?

It also seems like a couple of packages that are AUR in Arch are part of the official Antergos repo like compton.

And yes, I think you should be able to do that.

I opted for openbox on my antergos because DEs are overrated :v

And my arch is running i3

How's Arch going on for you? I have, until now, only used ubuntu based distros so im looking forward to Arch....

I really dislike Ubuntu. Arch has been wonderful. To be honest, I distro hop all the time (Ive tried most of everything ever) and arch has been my favourite so far. I need to try out Gentoo though

Just out of curiosity, why do you dislike ubuntu?

Hm...

Its mostly small things to be honest.
