Another Thunderbolt AIC Hack-ish Install Question

So I’ve poked around these forums for what I’ve been looking for which is to add a thunderbolt card preferably Thunderbolt 3 or even better four ( since some are identical in their wiring) to either a couple of gigabyte b360 HD3 boards but more than that the Beautiful brand new unused x570 Tai Chi my brother gave me for free including a 5900x.
Of course I’d much rather try for a tb4 in the x570 as the b360 boards are starting to go wonky and obviously the x570 is just better in every way.
I’ve read many posts about shorting pins but as the years go by I’m reading more and more posts that people just plug the card into the PCI slot and it works. Granted I would only be using this to pass data back and forth between computers with Thunderbolt three or four I have no need for video or anything else. All of my motherboards especially the Tai Chi x570 have brand new bios with lots of Thunderbolt AIC options. My main curiosity is that ever since the three or four or five years ago that you guys have posted on the subject if anything has changed? I truly wish I booked marked the sites where I found that you could simply plug the Thunderbolt Cards into the PCI slots and they just start working. Anyways I could care less which brand AIC I get but I definitely prefer tb4 in the x570 that would be ideal. Then secondly tb3 or tb4 in either of the boards would come second. So my curiosity is killing me about if people have came up with solutions for these things since y’all posted this stuff a few years back and I would kill for some advice on purchasing an inexpensive or used Thunderbolt card to start this with and of course the five pin header cables.
Is there anyone still hip to this subject?

By the way this is my first post here so I’m new thanks for having me and taking the time to read my issues!
