I'm mostly going to be gaming, but i'd like to do a litte bit of lite editing. So, I was wondering if the extra $50 for the GTX 680 and the cuda cores and a few extra FPS is worth it over the 7970?
I'm deciding between these two cards btw.

The 7970 is a better deal unless you know for a fact that the editing tools you will be using will take advantage of the cuda cores (some editing programs don't). They are both pretty equal cards for gaming and trade blows for the highest fps from game to game, but the price to performance of the 7970 can't be beat. This is coming from a 680 owner.
Thanks man, I think I might go with the 680 because it supports blender and Movie Studio Platinum Visual Effects Suite 2
Open CL is Supported in Blender, and im pretty sure Movie studio Platinum does aswell, which is What the AMD cards use and is Just as fast as CUDA but is becoming more widespread and standard than CUDA.
Add to that the fact that a 7970 Oc'd will beat a GTX 680 Oc'd and for a cheaper price and think you can see what the better option is.
BeyondNight is pretty much on the money. I myself would have bought the 7970 if it were not for the steal of a deal I made with a friend. At the price it will do what you need it to and more.
More thinking for me then ^^ thanks for the info guys
