i want to send several emails (only text no attachment) and be 110% anonymous.
i was thinking using some VPN to register and send the email from some obscure free email service...
any advice ?

that's even less anonymous, fingerprints, miscellaneous dna from handling it, credit card records of you buying the stamps if you're not thinking
if you would want to send encrypted emails you can use a free service protonmail.ch. It's still on beta but i tested it on my gmail. Works great
I too checked out protonmail, got my invite in a couple of days and it works quite well.
If your goal is to hide your identity from the mail recipient (that hasn't got spy-agency powers), here is the most simple way i can come up with, that requires the least amount of trust.
The vpn is to hide the fact that you are using tor, from the isp. The VM is because i can't be bothered to explain how to set up network sockets. This is not the safest way to be anonymous: I recon that concatenating lots of proxies is more secure, also compiling your own linux kernel and configuring a draconian mac (mandatory access control) & networkdevice-mac-adress spoofing would probably also help.
But the best way to get anonymity is to start a vpn business and use your customers as a shield.
if you want to hide your message from an eavesdropper:
be creative: use a sandbox game like minecraft and write the message in blocks, then use regular communication to enthusiastically ask somebody to check out your kick ass map.
If you are not knowledgeable enough in crypto and IT security, either learn how, go for abstraction layers & obfuscation.
There is no way to get anonymity while using windows, period.

nothing is 100% save, all these security related computer things you can do are a function of how many resources your opponent is willing to use to break your security.
My advice is probably more than enough protection if you're a teenager that wants to piss off the ex-boy/girlfriend or a disgruntled employee who wants to explain in the most obscene way possible how horrible a person their boss is, without having to face the consequences of proclaiming their unfiltered opinions. I don't judge, you do what you have to do.
If you are a journalist and your opponent is a government, don't follow my advice. Go to a university campus and get help from people that actually know what they are talking about.
not a journalist... but really dubious stuff happens and people need to know their rights are ignored
thank you
