Android Mp3 Players

Basically I'm looking for something like a mini tablet.  Wondering whats the best or if the Galaxy player is all thats out there

Lol, i was just in korea and i bought a galaxy S2 for 100 dollars. I just use like you would with an iPod touch. Just get a phone?

I bought a Galaxy player 4.2 wifi, it's  a phone without the radio's built in, pretty cheap for a touch screen player - that's all I could find on the market, no one else seems to want to take a bite at Apple's share with the iPod

I did however end up returning it.

There are very few accessories out there (even finding a screen protector that fits is a nightmare). The battery life on Gingerbread is woeful compared to Jellybean devices, rooting this (4.2 version) didn't work for me, or if it does work, you may get wifi problems - there were no custom roms built for this either

As said above, you're better off spending a bit more and getting an Android phone with expandable memory

Its not for myself, I am quite satisfied with my LG Quantum.  Its for my sister who is fourteen and not allowed to have a data connection so she can't get a smartphone with our cell provider.  I may be able to find one used though

This one seems to be good

That or the Galaxy Player. Or you can get a Galaxy SII, which has Dolby Mobile, which when turned on, the sound is noticeably better( not sure if the SIII has this)

For an Android player app, I like TTPod and Neutron Player

Will the SII operate without a sim card?  I was thinking about upgrading my phone and giving my old one to my sis but my mom swears it will use data even with it turned off and therefore cost her money.  Tech illeterate people upset me

Of course it will! Tell you're mom that she's too paranoid. If there's nothing there, you don't have to pay for anything except the phone. And when it's off, I don't even know why she would think it would still use data, especially when it doesn't have a sim card.

Not when the phone is off, when the data usage is disabled by the phone.  It allows you to switch data completely off but according to some friend of of a friend of my mom it will cost her money.

Oh, it still won't. There's no freakin sim inside!

Even if I put a sim in it it wouldn't if I disabled it lol.  My parents have what I call the caveman mentality when it comes to tech

I'm on board for just getting a full fledged cell phone. Something from the prepaid networks would be where I'd look. I found a new Motorola Droid X on Amazon for $140.

Same thing..

Year old cellphones are miles above any "dedicated" music player and can be had for under 100$.

No SIM = no data. How can anyone charge you if you don't even have their product in there?

I really like my HTC MyTouch 4G. Installed a special CM10 on it (it's not supposed to be above 2.3.3) and it works great. And has built-in AM/FM.
Bought mine 100$ locally.
