And here it is... my new build!

Ok, let me know how well this will work. I set this up as my base for now. I'll add a water cooler later on (perhaps a Corsair H80), and I'll be using an Asus 570 GTX Nvidia card I already have for now as well. Thinking I'll wait for the AMD 8000 series to come out (I'm thinking of getting a 8950 or 8970). That Samsung spinpoint HDD I already have as well.

Let me know your thoughts on this! I'll be gaming (Skyrim, WoW, Minecraft, Fallout 3/NV, GTA IV, Oblivion, Morrowind, the Sims 3, etc) and doing video work, as well as linux VMs in Virtualbox. Maybe some Bonic work too.

Thank you all!

All seems good. 2 things I would change though-

Since you're getting water cooling, just use stock heatsink to save some cash untill you get watercooling

And, you can easily find a cheaper case that will perform the same ;)

Well, that EVO I already have, it was my father's and he actually never used it. I guess I should have mentioned that too lol. As for the case, yeah I know there are cheaper cases, but I just really liked the look of that one, and it has good reviews and airflow. I dont know, maybe its that door lol. I used to have a monster HAF 942 case, pre-hurricane sandy... that got destroyed :(

Umm, if you are considering getting a Radeon 89XX series card when it comes out, you might want to push back the update until AMD systems natively support PCI-e 3.0 within the combined bridge or within the processor, which Intel claims. Although I don't support either brand over the other, I would like to point out that PCI-e 3.0 is literally twice as much potential bandwidth as PCI-e 2.0. With the Geforce 570 that you currently have, you wouldn't be able to tell a difference between the two, but a Radeon 79XX series card would be hurting for the lack of bandwidth. But if you MUST build a system now, the Gigabyte cards have gotten relatively poor reviews with their BIOS and some stability issues. Personally I am a fan of MSI, simply because they are quality components with good asthetics. But the thing about MSI is that you pay for it and when it says it is compatable, that means that you cannot go over its compatability standards. If it says memory up to 2133 MHz, that means that it won't post if you make it 2134 MHz. It is the same with the bus speed. If you want the absolute most rediculous memory overclocks you can find, try one of the higher end ASRock boards as they do go up to and past 2400 MHz.
