American monitor in Australia

Hey guys, I was thinking of buying a monitor from Amazon and getting it shipped to Australia as it is a decent bit cheaper to do so. I was wondering how I would go with the power plugs. I think American homes use 120v and Australian homes use 240v. Would it be okay if i just replaced the 3 pin power cable to an Australian one. or would I have to run the American monitor through a power converter. Just not sure if the monitor would simply over-volt if I used another power cord due to the monitor being from America.

Most devices these days will accept anything from 110 to 240v, so it should be fine. But you're going to want to check the specs and see what voltage it can take.

Thanks for the info, the monitor i'm looking at accepts 110 - 240v , I should be right just to replace the power cord?

Yeah, the power cords are all standard so it should be easy to find one with an australian plug

Ok thanks man
