AMD Vurtlization server

hey guys i remember hearing wendell a while back saying that the 990fx chipset supported ECC ram. i have 2x8GB ecc unbuffered sticks.

i plan on running either XenServer or Windows server. i have a gpu for it
i was thinking this:

Look at the errors in the list.

I saw that, but part picker really isn't good with anything enterprise, and the fact that I saw wendell running it makes me think it's okay. It was in his proxmox video

That motherboard does not support ECC ram. I looked through the supported ram list on the AsRock site and they do not support any ECC dims.

Dunno about the 8350, but you could always try to find cheap socket G34 hardware, here's some from newegg though

With the combos it's just under 500 bucks, probably not exactly what you want to spend though

The 990FX chipset does support ECC UnBuffered ram it just depends on the motherboard.

From the asus website "4 x DIMM, Max. 32GB, DDR3 1866/1600/1333/1066 MHz ECC, Non-ECC, Un-buffered Memory
Dual Channel Memory Architecture "

this is the final build we are going with. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/KjyChM
