Needing a great bang for the GPU that will be able to render, game and that runs chill for over clocking. Been looking at Radeon HD 7950 2 GB and the Nvidia GTX 760 2 GB for this heated battle and want to know what brand would have nice warrenty, overall very dependable and can take some major abuse. Going to be running BF4, StarCraft2, Crysis3 etc. and for programs Blender, and CS6. Going to be purchasing a 1440p monitor in the late winter area after the holidays so for now I will be on a 1080 so I would like to know if anyone has used these on a monster monitor
Any comment, sugestions, or advise would be of great help
Why they put it as a 2GB I have no idea that just pretty much threw Nvidia to the ground there its been almost a lifetime since I have used a Radeon card almost the later 90's before I did Nvidia for the 2000's upgrading from a 8800GT (Alpha Dog Edition) and it will be quite sweet to be back with XFX as they are a prime contender for the battle of the companies now
7950 destroys the 760 when they are both overclocked. 7950 is comparable to an overclocked 770 or even the 7970. The extra Vram will be useful at higher resolutions. Plus you get more free games, in comparison to Nvidia's current offer.
Easy choice. Just pick a 7950 with a dual fan cooler, like the HIS or MSI
Dont know how it picked INBOX to begin with....than again I was at work when I posted but anywho thankyou for the move and for the replies I will have to look into some of the more veteran Radeon manufacturers and see where it goes from here
you didn't say what in cs6 you'll be using or how much you'll be using it, but if you're using premier than know that with a 7950 you'll be rendering cpu only with no gpu accel.
of course you could just buy premier cc, just warning you
bf3 single player runs with about 50 fps in ultra with 2x msaa, so i guess bf4 will run about as smooth with 1xmsaa on highish. Nice 7950s cost 200 $ right now with 3 free AAA titles of choice, so just buy one.......or better, buy like a dozen. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127667
if you're only rendering CS6 go with the 760. It's behind the 7950 a little bit in gaming BUT! it will kick ass with cuda in CS6. OpenCL rendering on the other hand........
Playing tomb raider max with a gtx770 (2GB) i was seeing 1.8GB constant. More demanding games and future games will only use more Vram. Get something with 3GB if you're playing beyond 1080p
Damn I posted a very similar question almost a month ago and didnt get a single response thankyou all for what this has turned into I am very much looking into every comment that is posted going to every link and making sure I get the absolute best for what I will be doing in the future...Will post when I get the parts and machine built once I have my 1440p monitor I will post pictures like crazy hell even benchmark it and hopefully I get a really kickass deal on these part or new bigger better parts are in by the time I am ready
