AMD Upgrades

I have recently lost my Desktop and will be needing an AMD card I was going to go with a 280 as a place holder with the intent to upgrade.

So I know that EVGA offers an upgrade program for NVIDA cards. I was wondering if there are any AMD GPU companies that does something similar?

Dreaming again?

Hope not. Guess I will have to buy a 280 and then buy a 380 when it comes out :(

you could buy 290x then... and have 380x later when you flash with new bios...

Sorry, man. I wish i knew of such a thing. I have two 280 in cf right now but thinking on purchasing 290x with dx 12 myself. I normally dont buy new gen till the cards are benched and proven.

That is a pretty big unknown to base a purchase off of.

its common knowledge.

links?

no links. My gut tells me.

The R9 380 and 380X are shaping up to be a slightly different revision of Hawaii. Possibly clock or memory related changes will be made, but like the 7970/280X it should remain pretty much the same. Just speculation, of course.

And contrary to many speculations about rebrands of the new 300 series cards, other talk has been about how none of the new cards will be rebrands due to investors bitching about rebrands and laying out an ultimatum.
