AMD turns on no display

Cleaning a computer (canned air), reapplied thermal paste. Now no display, able to turn on and off by power button.

GPU works in another computer.

GPU is actually a AX7850 2GBD5-DHEV2

Already pulled the CMOS from the motherboard and sent info to asrock.
Will eventually tear everything apart. Anything else I can do?

Ordered this MSI motherboard.

I know windows will complain with motherboard change, do I need the product key in hand or will I be able to just make the phone call or whatever I need without it?

Or can I use a program it pull the product key from the harddrive? Will do a fresh install if I can.

If it works in another rig, check the PCI-E slot in the one it doesn't work in, either there is dust in the slot, or it just went kaput. A spare mobo won't hurt.

I dunno anything about the Windows key thing. my rebuilds haven't hit any snags, you might need to call MS to get it sorted out, that's about it. I did that once for Vista (yes, Vista).

NOOOOOOO NOT THAT MOTHERBOARD. That motherboard is literally the worst of the worst. The only thing that is crappier then that board is it's little brother, the g43. Do not buy it. Under any circumstances don't buy that board.

@thecaveman Will have to cancel the order tomorrow then or something.

How is it bad, reviews seemed better then this asrock I am troubleshooting.

Just took the machine out of the case. Get a screen with just the letter e
after I plugged in a keyboard changed to the number 4.

I'm sorry?

get some asrock splash screen with logo and x boot off. Then goes to this.

Can you enter the bios after the splash screen?

The g43 is the worse of the two, and under the heatsink the g46 is the same board except its got a bigger power plug. The g43 has been reported running so hot even at stock due to a lack of cooling and the crappy quality of the vrm that it melts, literally melts, under stock power draw.

Ahh, your mobo went kaput. Time for a new one.

I have to recommend spending a little bit more and at the least picking up this board: https://pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-motherboard-970gaming or an asus 990fx pro 2.0.

nope

Ah, yea was looking at that. Seen the refurbished one. Guess will have to call in tomorrow and cancel it.

because I was cleaning the pc... irony?

Buy a new board, but choose one that isn't going to burst into flames or just stop working.

Maybe, it's also possible for a full power cycle to blow a board, which you might have done. Or condensation from canned air or something.

PC gets turned off after use, only use was for playing Rift. Canned air might have killed it. Just a weird situation that puts me at fault for breaking someones computer.

Were is the info about this issue? Tried looking around, and seems everyone likes this board, other then one random person saying about this issue.

Not challenging the situation, want too look into. Will try and get the other MSI board.

I swear if the foxconn 2AB1 (third pc in the house) is more reliable then this asrock I will be highly upset.
