Hey there.
I don't have a ryzen build yet, so I would love to confirm an idea. Is it possible to overclock a CCX (4 core) and downclock another one? (E.g. 4.4 4 cores, 3.4 the other 4 cores).
Haven't used it myself yet but AMD's overclocking software lets you overclock cores individually. I aim to try the same thing eventually, but my build is a few days away.
Before I thought of the core complex effect I had planned to try overclocking every other core (or so depending on their physical layout) to possibly disperse the extra heat more efficiently, but now that idea would hinge on a significant change to the Windows thread scheduler. It was just an idea anyway.
No it isn't.
Can disable cores but what you want isn't possible.
The max OC on ryzen for now is like 4.1ghz just as an fyi. Maybe 4.2 if you have good cooling
AMD Master I haven't messed with ... But don't expect a ton of difference from standard OCing with it. You can change a few things but is mostly same as going through the BIOS.
Aww. I liked OPs idea.
