Amd radeon problem

Hey guys i seem to have a problem with my radeon 7870, well its starts when im playing a game like battlefield 3, counter strike or any other game i play the fps gos up and down dramatically say im playing battlefield its running around 70 fps then next second its drops to 30 fps and this is getting really annoying,  i would like to have a fun experience at the frame rate running steady anyone can help that would be great :3 -SHERTKL

P.S the driver i have on my card is 13.4 :3

and is there any driver i should look out for ;)

I heard that there are just a lot of problems with BF3 at the moment, might not be your graphics card.

you could try the beta drivers. i have problems with bf3 crashing alot with my card, apparently bf3 is just programmed shitty and it causes it

Dunno about real problems with BF3,

But FPS drops are common in the multiplayer maps. I think the factors are: serveral areas of specific maps have significantly other textures, also there are huge open areas and closed ones,

And last but not least: Multiplayeractivity may stress your CPU at certain points.

I dare say you only have problems with multiplayer games.

Make sure you go into catalyst and use and overdrive to set your cards power to +20%. This should fix your problem.

I agree with the others in that it is possibly a CPU bottleneck. Also try the above from Phantom.

Can you tell us your idle and load temps on your 7870?

And is this a new problem, or has it always been like this?

What settings are you playing at on Battlefield 3?

-Adam.

my idle temps are @24c average and load @40-60c this problem is been like this for a while, and i play on ultra settings
