My friend is looking at budget friendly desktop, and came across one that had 8GB of RAM, an AMD Radeon 8570 GPU, and an AMD A10-5700 CPU. He's looking to set it up on a 1080p monitor and do some gaming at 1080p. The games he is looking to play are, Castle Crashers, All of the Call of Duty games, Counter Strike, Minecraft, World of Warcraft, Battlefield 3/4, Saints Row 4, all of the GTA games, pretty much games of all genres. Does anyone know what graphics settings he can play the following games at on this PC on a 1080p monitor? And please don't say "build a PC", that is not an option.
Here's the link to the website for the PC : http://www.futureshop.ca/en-CA/product/gateway-gateway-dx4380-desktop-computer-amd-a10-5700-1tb-hdd-8gb-ram-windows-8-dx4380-eb35/10262662.aspx?path=0c674fbb4833bcd78e6eed5412fe12b2en02&SearchPageIndex=1
Thanks!
Its running a APU you will be lucky to get 1080p gameing on it (older games inde games at 1080p)
And it dosent say how fast the ram is (faster ram will make the intergrated 8570 on the apu better)
APU's are geared to 720p gameing.
yea im a noob at this stuff but i can tell ya this...apu (wich is built into the cpu) is not the best way to go for gaming. no matter how you slice it .. its a budget gpu. in the future the apu is gonna get better.. heck the new consoles are using them. but yea hes right...you probably dont want to use 1080p
speaking of wich.. the new consoles are having a huge problem with 1080p right now...and i would be willing to bet its the apu they are using lol. (new as in the ps4 and the xbox1)
heres my advice : make sure that the motherboard in that thing has a couple pcie 2 or pcie 3 slots and also has around a 500-600watt power supply and dosnt have a proprieatory case so that you can fit one in later. and watch out for it being completely propriatory... but i wouldnt buy the thing if it has a 300watt power supply
and you can play on that thing at around 1600x900 probably. or maby 720 p like he said....noone wants to play on 720p.....but i will say this too. a gtx630 costs like 60 bucks lol. and that thing will play 1600x900 easy and probably even 1080p but the performance will suffer and you cant play bf3 on medium but it will play on low with very nice frames.. just to give you a figure.. if you spend 200-250 bucks on a new graphics card . it will then use the new gpu instead of the apu.. and you are golden. cause thats not a bad processor its just the onboard graphics are not gonna make you happy at all.
everything about that system is fine except for the graphics solution.. so you can get it now. play on low. but make sure its got 500-600 watt power supply so you can get a new gpu later.....and if it dosnt have a good psu. make sure you can also install a better one later "size of the case" so that it will juice w/e gpu you put in there
i had to bend the metal of my old rig slightly around the skrew in holes so that my dell would fit a NON propriatory psu... the case is made for only one type of psu.. and its that kind of thing you want to avoid when buying a computer for gaming
btw dont worry about my psu its inline and dosnt move at all.. i was very carful making it work.. but im guessing you are trying to buy a prebuilt system. just watch the branding. look at the psu wattage...look at the overall size of the case. and if has all that shit then ur good man..you can upgrade later. i wouldnt get a dell. if you look at the gateways higher end computers you will notice they put good power supplies in there..umm asus uses good power supplies too in most cases..but dell.....they dont understand psu's aparently..only their alienware uses decent power supplies...
I'm not 100% sure but I don't think that the 8570 is an APU

Yeah nevermind I just checked the website again and sure enough it is
so what did you end up doing lol. did he go with the apu build ?
