My thought: i currently have a amd fx 6300 im happy with it how ever i would like better performance on emulator (dolphin) and as we know it emulator need fast core and use 1 to 2 core max. In 2016 i will be upgrading my cpu so that i can run unoptimized games or games that use 1 to 2 core like stacraft 2 better and emulator too. Hell im sure it will give me a boost in performance in minecraft this is good news. All i expect from amd is the cpu to perform like Intel haswell and i will be happy oh and price like the current FX

but if they fail to perform like Intel haswell them i will be moving on to intel in 2016 i hope not i enjoy the value i get from amd

also the articles sudgest that amd might be ditching CMT and go for SMT instead:

well that from my read

anyway what are your thought on this

I love AMD and Intel i want both companies to prosper. It would be nice to see AMD put Intel in a Corner for once since it hasn't happened in a long time. the Tech Community needs competition. and I think the Reconstruction of the FX Line is what AMD Needs, but my personal problem with the Current FX Line (AM3+) is that there are no Bloody Excellent mATX boards. i refuse to go with an ATX board cause i don't personally care for it. I like small powerful builds. if the Current FX line (AM3+) would of had a decent mATX board right now i probably wouldn't have the 4670k i'm using now.  but if the future of the FX Line has lets say has a Maximus Gene Board i would GLADLY Jump to the AMD Ship.

I believe they can do it because they have Jim Keller back. I emailed him and he seem really excited, he said the new architecture will match or beat the current cpu's on ipc, but theirs other things playing into it like core count, etc. I think they can do it, for real. Jim keller won't allow another bulldozer!

I'm interested to see how this plays out. I think we are going to see some fairly fast and very modular designs moving forward from amd

Let's hope they don't fail to deliver what the industry needs: a valid high performance alternative to Intel. Anyway, I am having same issues with Dolphin :S it must be the only thing in which the i3 may be better than the FX-6300.

i mean my fx 6300 can run dolphin but metroid primes i get low frame rate but but i can still play it it some games it will struggle also i find that minecraft with the shader mods make my system cry when it on but then again thats just my gpu bottlenecking that one at least i think it is but i hope they don't f up i have fate in them they shall succeed also they better get some mATX size this time around

Are you playing dolphin with native resolutions? What about Zelda TP?

yeah 8 core 16 threads come to mommy ♥

lol ☺

really you guys are having problems with dolphin, my 8350 seems to run it fine??

YAY!

I must be crazy, but I'm actually a lot more excited about the ARM K12 chip.

As for the FX processor... meh.

It depends on what I try to run...I also have only 4GB of RAM and a shitty hard disk, that may be a problem aswell maybe. Zelda TP has quite unplayable framerate in Ordon village and some other places with high polygon count and I think my 560ti shouldn't be struggling with this. Also, horrible stuttering in SSBB, but that I think definitely is the HDD being a piece of utter shit.

Zelda TP(GamesCube Version) on dolphin emulator run fine to me i just test it and in ordon village has 30 fps how ever when i was on the horse in ordon village the music lag depending on where i was looking it was just one spot witch was odd but the game play is smooth also after i got off the horse the everything was also as smooth i ran it at native resolution of (2.5x) with 4x anti aliasing and 16x anisotropic filtering make sure you use opend GL for it and since it a 6 core cpu int the hack section check Open mp texture decoder make sure to use the latest dolphin emulator from https://dolphin-emu.org/download/?ref=btn the only setting i would lower for me would be anisotropic filtering to maybe 4x i hope it help if not just message back i do my best to help

I sent you a PM to avoid overflowing this thread with possibly off topic content, thank you!
