AMD FX 8350 With SSD or Intel i7 3770k With No SSD

I have 2 possible builds I have set up: One using the AMD FX 8350 and a SSD and one with a Intel i7 3770k with no SSD. They're both about equally priced builds and I was wondering which would be better for pure gaming, no video editing, rendering, or 3D modeling (I will be using this computer to code however). Is the 3770k overkill for what I want to do, and it is better to get the 8350, an SSD, and a better motherboard for just gaming (Note: This will be on a single 1080p monitor, may have side monitors but I will only game on one monitor, Eyefinity bothers me).

The Builds In Question:

CPU: AMD FX 8350/Intel i7 3770k

CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-U12P

Motherboard: (AMD) Asus Sabertooth 990FX (Intel) Asus P8Z77-V Pro

Memory:  Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3-1600

Storage: Western Digital Blue 1Tb 7200 RPM

(AMD only) Samsung 840 Pro 120Gb SSD

GPU: Asus Radeon R9 280x 3Gb

Case: Corsair 650D

PSU: Corsair 760W ATX12V / EPS12V

Optical Drive: Some cheap $20 drive, doesn't matter in the slightest

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium

if its just gaming then an 8350 is more your speed and the ssd will just be a nice finish to the build.

Any SSD will drastically improve the performance and loading times on your PC in all applications and games, definitely go for the SSD option.

The 8350 with the ssd is probably the way to go. You would probably get a few fps more in many games but at the cost of a significantly less snappy system and slow loading times.

Do you plan on adding a second 280x in the future. If not you dont need a psu as high wattage or as expensive as what I am assuming is a corsair ax 760.  Also if you are planning on adding a second card to the fx8350 build and overclocking you might want to grab an 850. There are some nice ones by xfx and others that are a good price. Someone like brennanriddell could better help you find a perfect psu for your system though. He is much better then most at calculating how much a system will actually use.

SSD is essential to the human race in my opinion.

yes the i7 is overkill

If youre anal about frames, heat produced and acustic sounds, i would get a i7 37770k and get an ssd down the track.

Esep what Logans pc build said, black friday would have ssd sales for less.
