Amd carrizo leak

First off this is a rumor so take it with a grain of salt, however a six core apu would be a god send.

It appears to be fake:

Would be nice to see something like this though.

Man that went quickly.

if amd is ever gonne create apu´s like that, then atleast for god sake, put L3 cash on it! ☺

Stacked memory ftw!

Yeah even if it did have 6 cores, its useless because of its PCI-e layout: x8 lanes for dGPU and only x4 lanes for general purpose

ya id rather stick to my 1090t

AMD makes 8-core APUs for consoles, but can't one for desktops.

Consoles have 8 really weak mobile cores (puma cores)

I can't find a source, but I believe that 4 jaguar/puma cores can fit in one bulldozer module(2cores). So the CPU performance is about on par with an athlon 5350 times 2. Also the die size of the console apu is massive.

Looking at the die of the potato apu its looks to be a dual quad core CPU system rather than a single 8 core CPU probably because the way the apus are structured they probably can't put 8 cores together as one unit

Nothing new in 2014, the AMD prologue is a marketing character introduction for APUS, like ruby for gpus. No high end cpus worth talking about till q3 2015- q2 2016

It is looking more and more like Carrizo will be mobile-only. Originally, I thought that Carrizo would be what Bulldozer should have been, based on rumors of a beefed up FPU and some interesting die shots, but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore.

WCCF did report, however, that Carrizo will have embedded dram-- which will give the graphics horsepwer to push it further into the territory of md-ranged (laptop) graphics.
