AMD Athlon II X2 270, 3400 MHz, Socket AM3 I plan to buy it costs about 75,50$... I wonder if its a goob buy, I am from Croatia so I dont know really. Is it a good CPU?
The dual-core AMDs are behind in todays software so I dont want to see how much they'll be underpreforming in the future. I would steer clear of it and try to get ahold of one of the Phenom II quads instead, preferably a 955 BE or similar. They have a lot more performance and are still a viable option for the future especially once overclocked.
the Athlon II X4 CPUs are actually pretty good for a budget system
almost all of the performance of the phenoms except with no L3 cache
Yes although the OP is refering to a dual core in particular.
Well I have a limited bugdet... Right now I am checking the hardware available... I try to keep my bugdet under 2000, its kinda hard since there arent much hardware diversity in my country so it sucks...
if you are on a super low budget i would say get one of the G41 motherboards with Xeons from ShenZhen

they work ok, i have used one before, and get a used 9800GT 1GB card to go with it
When I mean under 2000 i meant 400$... Lol I mixed the currency. My bad... Lol kinda frustrated. Thankts for the info.

If you dont mind about looks etc and just want it to play some games, nothing too complicated. (no OS). If you have a old HDD lying around you could swop the Western digital for a SSD of a similar cost.
Just gives you an idea of whats around
Thanks... Sadly it will cost even more with taxes, probavly... I hope I could spend more if possible... I make a post about a possible rig, 350-400 rig...
Its not bad when you will take a peak at it. for the future... >_>
