AMD Adrenalin

So I just picked up an ASRock 6950xt video card. Installing drivers, as I understand required Adrenalin.( though I am not entirely sure. That being said, I have my Ryzen 9 5950x clocked at 4600 in the bios, but this AMD Software is bouncing all over, while CPU-Z says it is running at 4600. So my question is do I required this for this hardware, and or is it slowing down the processor? I am so confused. I actually had to format cause Nvidia wouldn’t let me uninstall its drivers for the 2080 super. Sorry if I put this in the wrong category.

First note, you could have used DDU (Device Driver Uninstaller) to remove the older nVidia software.

Second, yes you need the Adrenalin drivers installed, but you maybe missing the updated chipset drivers.

Maybe download and run the AMD auto-detect app to see what may still be missing, it should find any missing drivers and download and install them and then ask to reboot.

After the reboot try once more.

Thanks I will give that a shot.
EDIT: I got the same result, so I guess its the system monitor in adrenalin. Just for the record, I have been using Zero Horizon Dawn as my test for this graphics card. I am getting 165 FPS on 3440x1440, this card has been running (2655) is the top so far with all graphics on ultra max. This thing is a beast.

Strange not sure why that is happening then, I have a 7950x CPU + RX 6900XT GPU.

When I swapped out my GTX 1080 Ti I used DDU to remove ALL the drivers and then installed the latest Adrenalin build.

Did you run DDU in Safe Mode ?

Normally that is the best way so that no extra device drivers are running and loaded.

During installation, there is one point where you can check a box and then select “Drivers only” in a drop down menu.

That is perfectly normal behaviour. Over the course of one second, various parts of your computer will go from basically idle to full blast and back to sleep.

Timestamped below, the video goes into depth into what is going on.

There may be drivers missing (in windows, have a look in device manager. There should be no yellow triangles).

I did not use DDU, I actually formatted. I have a clean install of Windows 10. It was probably over due anyways.

Bulzoid Rocks! Thanks for the link, Now it makes sence, and the reason why I got a 1300 watt PSU. Thanks everyone.
