I know this has been discussed to death. And as far as I'm concerned the 8350 tops the Intel chips easily as far as gaming goes (at the very least as far as bang for the buck and streaming goes)
But I'm wondering on the side of Video editing, After effects, Rendering, and so on is the 3570k a better choice? And if intel is a better option is the 3770k worth the additional $100?
I've been leaning towards the AMD but I also like the ability to put the Intel's into small form factor cases like the Prodigy and so on. I know each has their merits but am I likely to notice a significant speed increase (with video as I said) with one over the other?
I'm sure someone can comment more on this than me but I will give my two cents. If you want to do video editing, you'll want the 3770k because the hyperthreading gives you a lot more over the 3570k, it is also great for streaming (however the 8350 is just as good for streaming) ... but if you have a GFX card with OpenCL or a lot of CUDA cores, you could use the card to render your videos (Premiere for CUDA, Sony Vegas for OpenCL I believe) and then just get the 8350 for streaming/gaming optimization.
Just my two cents, take it with a grain of salt until someone better educated can comment :)
If you're doing a ton of editing, rendering, editing, rendering, etc. then go with the 8350. It has more cores for encoding, and it is unstopable in rendering and editing with some 2400mhz memory. For gaming, you can't complain. You'll get a little better FPS with higher res games on it over the 3570k too.
both are about equal, the 8350 doesent destroy the i5 in rendering contrary to popular belief, especially if you factor in the IGPU and its Encoding capabilities.
I would get the 8350/8320 and or the intel 3820 which is almost the same as 3770k but cheaper with no onboard GPU. I have one and im very impressed and x79 boards are also at good prices.
If you want rendering, pickwhatever you want and use GPU to render, because gpu got tons of cores and the old gpus are faster than i7 in rendering I beleive :/. Anyway I have amd but I would go into 3770k because of lower temperatures and better single core performance.
for faster rendering and video editing, you need a high end Nvidia gpu with plenty of cuda cores. To be honest, i would go with the FX8350 and invest the money saved into a better gpu
