Amateur Radio

It all depends on the case IMO.

For the case I bought, its the 2000mah on Amazon I linked that fits. But you can get cases that accommodate different sizes and capacities.

I tried a million times and it just will not boot, but flashing the stock FW seems fine. Maybe my board is somehow different?
Does it require an SDcard?
I’m out of ideas to just get a first boot

I have an 8000 in mine.and the case is not big. it fits pretty snug.

the connector is slightly bigger but it’s not hard to swap the connector since the T-deck comes with a spare one to adapt batteries
My case

I printed in all black PETG
The material makes the GPS take a minute more to get signal than PLA it seems, but it’s more durable and what I had lying around in black

I have to go check but im pretty sure i dont have sd cards.

Maybe do the hard reset first?

I finally got it to work! Instead of the web flasher I found this reddit comment to use an online esp flasher and it just worked!

moved a small shed today that had one of my masts attached so i had to relocate the mast.
expected to have to retune the antenna but the vna showed it was better than the original position.
busy with a lot of tasks before winter comes so i dont have a lot of time at the present to play with the radio,
been busy with canning, minor repairs, and storm activity with the fire department.
looking forward to some radio time shortly ( that is if the wifey stops finding sh!t to put on the honey-do list.

Double shielded coax would come in handy here!
Inner shield and center conductor connected to antenna and outer shield bonded to ground buss only plus about 8 mix 31 ferrite beads.

got a roll of rg6 in pretty sure

Rg6 is a 75 ohm cable it can be used for cophasing a matched set of antennas. (2 Equal lengths) then 50 ohm from there to radio.
Using rg6 alone will present a little mismatch, even more so the longer the length.
It can also be used after a tuner.
While it will work it wont be optimum performance.

There are many 50 ohm cables to choose from,
Rg 58
Rg8x ( better)
Rg8u liteweight.
These three are ok for hf and 2 meter but lossy at any frequency above vhf

Congratulations! Extra is quite the badge of honor

Been wondering about aspects of dual antennas.

Major congratulations. I’m cramming today for my general (test is tomorrow morning). I want to play with HF and modes like FT8 (i know i know i could do receive only ft8 but i want to do a full setup when i dive into it).

Good luck on your test!

I didn’t prepare enough, missed it by four points/questions. Bummer, I really want to get on FT8
