[AM4 / VFIO] Hesitating between x570 Taichi Razer and x570 Aorus Master

To get rid of the obvious: yes, I know AM5 has been all the rage for a while now.
As I mentioned in my previous thread on the matter (which didn’t get much love), I already have a few parts, and definitely not enough money to spare for a proper, long-lasting AM5 build.

Things have evolved a bit since that thread, though: I’ve bought a couple things, and (hopefully) narrowed my choices on the rest.

To sum up, I already have:

  • CPU: 5900X
  • Case: Corsair Obsidian 800d
  • GPU: Radeon RX 6900 XT
  • PSU: FSP Hydro Ti Pro 1000W
  • NVMe: Solidigm P44 Pro 2 TB x2

Parts I’m considering:

  • Cooler: Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120
  • RAM: G.Skill RipJaws V DDR4-3600 CL18 64 GB (2x32)

The aim being using a Windows VM for gaming (and possibly even game on the Linux part, but the only “potent” GPU I have on the side and that I’d use for the host is a GTX670… :pensive:), along with mucking around with VMs (for science and/or work stuff).
I’m experienced enough with Linux that I can follow and (eventually) understand (most of) what I’ll have to do to set this all up, but I am yet to enter the VFIO world :crossed_fingers:

Anyway, back to the subject at hand: what would you guys/gals recommend between x570 Taichi Razer and x570 Aorus Master (possibly also Aorus Ultra, but that seems a step-down from Master) for that purpose ?
I narrowed it down to those two boards because they’re the affordable top-end of what I could (somewhat) easily find… they’d be both second-hand, of course.

IOMMU groups for both are easy to find, though they tend to change with BIOS versions, and I couldn’t find much about the more recent BIOSes.

I suppose what I’m interested in is how these boards have treated people, if they had issues, perhaps how easy (or difficult) they have been to set up, stuff like that.
All I need is a nudge… perhaps a firm one
