should easily play l.o.l you can build a system w/ 5350 1tb hd itx case and 4gb ddr3 for $250 if you are good at shopping like me

i am seeing conflicting reports on the overclocking support of the motherboards..... what values can you overclock your apu to/does your motherboard support it.

Jaguar is a power-efficient architecture just like silvermont.

You would still be better of with piledriver CPU for RAW performances.

many o/c's are impossible because the chipset memory controller etc. is built in to the cpu. some of the apus can overclock but only extremely slightly you would not see ANY performance increase. not 1 single fps. To be clear I do not own the hardware. But I have been stalking it and have watched all of the scarce videos of it. Too many people see it as a shittastic remake of the e-300's when really they can compete with pentiums and mobile i3's. keep in mind you should not get anything lower than the 5350 as the performance drops immensely on the graphics. I imagine mantle must help but It has not been tested

It would be terrible, have little to non performance increase, unless you still want it to have the iGP.

I am going to order the components soon, within a month hopefully. Then I will brag about the rig, and send it to my brother to use as a 24/7 dvr and htpc. He is gonna love xbmc.

I wouldnt bother with cas 7 because of all the limitations of the memory controler

so does anyone have any more tests on how they preform with a discrete gpu, I saw another one that is with a r7 250 and it gave a 800% performance gain in bf4.

just search athlon 5350 on youtube

ahh yup found some more...This looks like a promising platform...Lets hope beema comes out for am1 later this year or early next!

since the chipset is on the cpu it could last twice as long as am3 has. there are so many possibilities

Ya I was reading an interesting article on the possibility of this architecture becoming amd's next enthusiast platform, I can't seem to find it now, but it was about how when the pentium 4 came out, it was not that great(like bulldozer), but they then released a version based on their mobile architecture(like kabini), that eventually evolved into the core 2 series. If they really worked on this architecture and released cpu only parts, they could be great.  However given the direction that AMD is heading, I don't see that happening which is a shame...

if the 5350 comes massively used for extremely budget gaming pc's.. I can see it coming, AMD seems to be in a state of wait and see, they have a lot of fronts open...let's hope they get to release enthusiast cpu-only in 2015, or at least hsa pushing, if hsa becomes masive I would be the 1st one to buy an APU, but sincerely, I dont see it coming in the near future, so AMD should release an enthusiast cpu the next year...

mantle should allow us to use way overkill gpu's like the 760 if it gets popular

I can't resist I will be building a new rig around the 5350 paired with a r7 265.  I am interested to see how if preforms...I really wish Logan could get a hold of one of these for testing.  I mean he doesn't even need to get one sent to him, they are cheap enough he should just be able to buy one with a motherboard...

It looks like only the Asus mobos support overclocking, this OC is minimal however results in a 3-7% increase all around.

check this out more benchmarks with a discrete gpu a 750ti to be exact.  Once again very impressive performance!

ok so I'm gonna try to bring this thread back for a bit.  how does the athlon 5350 compare to the x4 750k.  I know that the x4 will out perform the 5350, but by how much?

I dont think they are too far apart. thanks for the bump. check out the blogs for an laptop I am making from a 5350

I just realized AMD pulled out a NEW platform actually! They turned their FM2+ platform into the middle ground between entry level and high end. I wished they released Steamroller FX chips but thinking how it doesn't really clock that high and the IPC isn't that much better, I'd rather wait for Excavator to come and it'd better be the game changer for FX. In the meanwhile, good job AMD for these low end components, they really look promising!
