It’s 5:31 am, still awake, still typing, lol

This is FFFF amazing, all i can say really, encapsulates the experience.
It feels like i’d been driving a used Lada my entire life and someone just came and game me a Porsche instead. Cannot describe the magnitude of the difference.

I cannot describe this… all those stupid little things i complained about in Windows and could do nothing about? Gone man, so long and don’t write.
Five hours in and i made my first pkg! :joy:
I did that, lol; i don’t even know what the letters mean, am sure they signify parameters, but no probs, i made it myself, installed it, it’s working!

It’s not difficult, it’s actually l-o-g-i-c-a-l.
Am not going back to monkeysoft, i have no sound, my ZXR doesn’t exist for this OS, but whatever, i’m hooked now. Don’t know how i’ll live without my music, but i’ll manage.

I paid 150euro for the Lada. The Porsche’s been given for free.
Don’t know what’s wrong with this world…

Anyway, lol, belated Merry Xmas to you all and a happy new year in case i’m still sleeping it off ^^
Edit: And if anyone knows how i can have sound, lol, by all means educate.

Did you install alsa and pulse audio? After install also run alsamixer and unmute the proper out channel. Should be working.

The details may differ a bit writing from memory.

Also maybe give more info about hw and sw and what did you already do to fix the problem. Post logs from journalctl

Have yet to do anything to fix the problem :slight_smile:

Am still sorting various stuff out plus learning the ropes in meantime, currently for example am deleting my windows boot managers (one keeps coming back up, but i forgot to update my grub, hopefully now it’s sorted).

Edit: That log is some thousand pages long, should i just upload the whole thing inside spoilers?

I think ur out of pcie lanes bruv. At least thats what it looks like to me. Maybe 1 lane short. It can see it and tries to register it, but it doesn’t tave good enough bandwidth to operate.

Did you add a card recently?

If not thats just alsa gibberish that happens at boot.

Nothing, no, it’s as it was from day one… one GPU, one sound card, one NVMe on a riser card (i wanted it sitting on a PCIE lane that is split from the CPU, it bypasses PCH [you know, the usual Intel bottlenecks with DMI])

Edit: If you’re talking IOMMU stuff, what you say, am clueless. But in terms of CPU lanes, i well, should actually, have some to spare. It’s a 44? 48? lane chip, got the mobo lane diagram too, they’re mounted correctly.
