I've been using PfSense for a while but cant keep all of my devices on the same network without WiFi. The wireless card I want to use is the TP-LINK TL-WDN4800 but isn't supported on the stable version and the alpha shows but doesn't work.
so, are there any alternatives to PfSense that run on FreeBSD 10 or support my wireless card?
A better idea is to just get a separate access point like skullabyss suggested. This is really a saner way of doing wireless, because you have the ability to relocate the wireless bridge in order to get the best signal. However, if you're just trying to get your existing hardware to work, snapshot builds of pfSense 2.2 are available. 2.2 is based on FreeBSD 10, so it may have the drivers you are looking for.
I use a little cheap consumer Linksys router to provide wifi. I just turned off the DHCP and disabled UPnP, and set it up with a static IP outside the DHCP range of the pfsense box. Nothing fancy, but at most theres 5 users for my little network, so this does fine.
As to actually answer the original question. There are lots of alternatives, I would advice looking at m0n0wall, smoothwall or ClearOS.
These are some of the ones i've tried, but I've never attempted wireless in them so I simply don't know what they are like. ClearOS is most probs your best bet.
However like the others have said, I would use a separate wireless access device, as it makes upgrading/repair/troubleshooting much easier.
(Side Note: Wiki has a surprisingly good list of router and firewall OS's)
