All Parts Picked out! Ready to Order! Any Last opinions?

Can someone please tell me approximately how heavy these components will be because I have to ship them internationally. Also, What should I name this beast?!?!?! :) I'm coming up with names and i'll post them as I think of them!

Big thank you to SLIMM and BRENNANRIDELL for all the advice! I have finally put this build together and I am over the moon! :D

Thanks again to EVERYONE here on teksyndicte for all your advice!

I wish you all a GREAT day! :)

Whaddup people of tek syndicate!!! :D

I am absolutely thrilled right now because I have finally put together the PERFECT PC FOR ME...  on pcpartpicker :P

It is a $3500 FULL DESK SETUP for professional Graphic Design and Cinematography. I believe that this is all I will need for the next 6-10 years of running the latest adobe suites and the latest games on relatively high resolutions/fps for the next 3-4 of those years.

Here is what I consider to be the perfect build for $3500 (ofcourse I absolutely have no idea wtf I put together, but from my tiny bit of research, this looks pretty good! ^__^)

What do you guys think?! This build will take place in the summer but I don't think I want to tamper with this anymore. Newer hardware will come and go, I'll upgrade in a few years when I save up some money. So what are your opinions?! Will this satisfy my need for a snappy, fast, trouble-less experience?! (Also you Linux geeks out there should be happy to know that I am oficially jumping the boat and getting a copy of the OS to dual boot with Windows!)

This will be a HUGE HUGE jump for me from my current computer which has some OKAY specs I guess... but it's pretty damn old. It's a core 2 duo Vista machine with some old ass ATI Radeon onboard graphics and 2 gigs of RAM. It gets the job done SO FAR but it will eventually die, especially now that I'm running it with a 20" monitor (because dual monitors are epicsauce!).

That should be all, hope you guys comeback with any feedback you have, i'm all ears! :D

That motherboard, danggg the price...For your needs I don't think that premium price would be very wise.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/DI19

Also, I also put in a 680, instead of a 670, it was only $20 more.

I personally would do the alternative to getting win7, that would save you some money (iso to a usb drive and use windows loader, if you wanna do some research on that) but if you don't want to that's all good.

I hope I helped! I even made is so that the parts I picked had that black/white/gray color scheme you seem to look for!

EDIT: lol had to edit my post, I didnt catch the part where you have already a 2nd monitor, so scratch that about the 2nd monitor

Change out the Rampage IV Extreme, switch out to the Sabertooth X79. That motherboard is a beast.

Swap out the GTX 670 4GB to a GTX 680 2GB.

Change the PSU you chose for this one.http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151105

This is what I'd do, the rest is fine :).

Dude, I threw in a low CAS memory with your mobo (which I JUST found out comes with onboard WiFi and Bluetooth Fuck Yeah!) and I upgraded the 680 to a 4GB dedicated Vram with the highest core clock available on Pcpartpicker... AND I STILL HAVE MONEY FOR MORE STUFF!! :P Thank you so much! Are you ABSOLUTELY sure that Gigabyte board is stable and won't run into any problems?!1 I'm getting this stuff shipped overseas so handling has to be taken into account! If this cheaper mobo doesn't stand the 'lovely' handling of UPS personnels then i'd rather pay for a higher quality mobo.

--EDIT--

Taking the other dude's advice into account, here's the newer build http://pcpartpicker.com/p/DIqx <<<< Looks good?!

If you could also please point me to a Tutorial on how to get Windows 7 the 64bit, then I could utilize the money into another SSD! :) *!YES PLEASE!*

I'm really sure  the gigabyte mobo can handle your needs, any x79 mobo will be great, just don't waste money on that rampage!

about windows, I have a thread a while ago asking soe questions, try to look into this:

http://teksyndicate.com/forum/windows/win-7-iso-question/131063

EDIT: mind you that a 4gig 680 is only good when doing multi monitor gaming, which is 3 monitors, It's not really a good investment in my opinion...unless..you REALLY want that back plate, haha.

my fault for picking higher CAS ram, I completely forgot

Thank you VERY much for the link! I'll look into it now! :D

Here's what I believe to be the final update to this thread because this build is looking too sexy to be true and I can't WAIT to get my hands on all the parts and build it! http://pcpartpicker.com/p/DIAc <<< Final update, anything else to change? :)

EDIT: this build was initally done with the aim to fit in THREE of those sexy asus 24.1" ProArt 1200p mmm mmm mmm moniors but I'll have to bring those extra monitors in later, for now it'll be just that bad boy with a 20" HP W2007v. OH BTW I JUST REMEMBERED! MY monitor connects through VGA, does the 680 on the Updated link above have a VGA port??

From the picture on newegg, the 680 you picked out comes with dvi to vga adapter, do you'll be all set

thats a nice build

Thank you VERY much! :D I am absolutely thrilled to finally put this thing together so that I can now start FOCUSING ON MY STUDIES!! :L lol

Here is the link again http://pcpartpicker.com/p/DQXt if anyone who would like to use this as some sort of reference to their build! :)

Thank you SO MUCH all you amazing people of TekSyndicate! I shall now study my ass off so that I get the grades I need for this computer to become a reality :P WISH ME LUCK! <3

Sorry to bump this thread again but may I ask what kind of gaming performance I can expect with a build like the one I have above? Please and thank you! <3 :D

Edit: ~~~

Also it would be nice to get an idea of how heavy these components would be and approximately how many packages they might come in (im ordering everything from newegg). As I AM shipping these overseas! :$

We're in the same boat then, haha!

I got a reply for my own build here, it's certainly less ambitious than yours, but you may get an estimate...

http://teksyndicate.com/forum/build-pc/pc-parts-dimensionsweight/132636

Yeah mate, I saw your thread that's why I'm asking :L I thought I might aswell get an idea for my build too. but the thing is, even though i'd already seen your build, yours is only a computer while mine comes with a monitor and i believe the phantom 820 is a bloody load to carry cuz it's a full tower case! :S

It would be really hard to corelate our builds for anything near an acurate estimate of the weight.. Thanks for the help though! :D

Well, you're running a 4GB GDDR5 GTX-680..That with the i7, you'll have no problems, and a very hard time bottle necking either of them.

hard time bottlenecking them?

try running guildwars 2 he could oc that chip to 5ghz and still bottleneck in gw2 :P

Bro, I just visited your page and realised that you're from Egypt...
I'm currently in Dubai and I just found a middle eastern parts online store, they're fairly new but are about to launch their website (it's in sort of a beta atm) and I messaged them last night, friendly guys who shall email me today if they have the components for my build...I guess if we order from them, shipping price shall  drop considerably? :)

Omg seriously?!! That's awesome!! Can you link me to their website if they have one?? or pm me their email? I'm actually studying in Saudi Arabia which is even closer to Dubai but I was born in Egypt :) Thank you so much in advance! <3

WoW, those are some high end components.  If it's for gaming only however you could probably invest in a slightly cheaper system and not see a performance drop if at all.  Also the 680s are not worth their current price tag.  On current 13.2 Beta drivers, the 7970Ghz edition is faster than the GTX 680 in most AAA modern games, such as Battlefield 3, Farcry 3 and Crysis 3.  There is one thing you should wait for  with your humungous budget and that's the Nvidia Geforce Titan card.  This will most likely be the fastest single GPU card.  Reviews on the card should be coming either today or tomorrow.  It should be available to consumers sometime late this week or early next week.  Trust me, with some sensible spending (if all you need is the PC for gaming) then you could invest in an i5 3570/i7 3770K and spend a monstrous $800-$1000 on this new card.  It should destroy the GTX 680 and AMD 7970 Ghz edition.

Hey mate thanks for your reply! I stated in the OP my usage for this system

"It is a $3500 FULL DESK SETUP for professional Graphic Design and Cinematography. I believe that this is all I will need for the next 6-10 years of running the latest adobe suites and the latest games on relatively high resolutions/fps for the next 3-4 of those years."

What i'm looking to do is build a computer for professional work for the next decade, so Yes it is worth dropping the money. Atleast so in my eyes. This will have to process hours of 1080p recording of my doing art pieces so that I can get on the Youtube scene in what is called 'Speed Arts' and it would give me a chance to do tutorials, Livestreams, all sorts of stuff that is pretty much impossible on my current laptop.

Also, This build is happening in the summer and I already KNOW new hardware is coming out like the Haswell CPU's and the Titan GPU but I just don't care any more. I have studies to focus on and I can't get caught up with having to monitor the news and the prices of these new components. Sure If I can fit them in before purchase time then ofc I will try and do that, but for now this is my system. My life can resume :P

Thanks again for your helpful suggestion, I will consider this new GPU when it comes out. :)

Right, that build makes alot more sense.  I should improve my skim reading.  In that case I can see why you've stuck with the Nvidia GPU.  I don't see any reason for 4GB of vRAM but if you're using programs like Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 and there is a significant improvement using the 4GB variant then so be it, I haven't found any articles that show any huge benefits with over 2GB of vRAM.  If you are going to stick with the 4GB version then I'd suggest opting for the Gigabyte card.  It's quieter cooler and performs better, not that you would see that much of a difference, but it also comes at a slightly lower price point than the EVGA card.  In terms of SSD's the OCZ Vertex 4's are good.  The Samsung 830s which are in stock are only $7 more expensive and are simply better.  The 830s have had pretty high praise and for good reason, they're arguably the best SSD's on the market.  The 840 Pros are just as good.

Lastly I would never build a system to try and last 6-10 years.  That's a huge expectation.  5 years max at which time you should consider upgrading.  I personally upgrade every 3-5 years, however with the PC market slowing down and companies focusing on efficiency and the mobile space, your system might just last you more than 5 years.
