I am building a new pc for in our livingroom, but i need some suggestions:)
I tought that this could be a nice balanced setup: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/39c8w
I need it particularly for all around stuff for school stuff(word, powerpoint) but i would like to play some games when i'm done with school(minecraft, garrys mod, tf2). the budget is around 500$. i already have a hdd but i would like to add a ssd to the build for the os install and other frequent used applications. for bulk storage i already have a 360GB HDD. I don't need a lot of storage becouse the HDD that im using now isn't full. if i need more storage i could add it down the line. i am going to use the same case that i have now (only atx). I don't know what kind of psu i need so I haven't it added yet:P.
I think you can get a 760 for the price of the 270,possibly even cheaper.
Would you be playing relatively intensive games on this machine? If you aren't,i would suggest you look into the AMD APU line. The APU line would serve better in that price range, provided you aren't playing graphically intensive games.
Again, depending on what you need a GPU for,you might be able to save some money by going the APU route. As it is,you are nearly maxing out your budget and you don't have a PSU in.
take a look at this. it is an APU system. but yeah. im in class on a 5 min break, so i just copied most of my "$600 PC Build" project i did a few weeks back lol
I don't really need this gpu, its a bit overkill and it's a lot cheaper in the netherlands, i can get it here for 160 euros which is around 140 usd. I could do with a A10 apu, but has the A10 a fast cpu becouse i really would want that snappy feel, thats why the fx6300 and the r9 270 where in the build. but can i go with an apu and still get the snappy feel? :P thanks
Most Motherboards require a Bios Update for Kaveri which can not be done unless you have a another APU. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813132056 This is the only one i found that supposedly supports Kaveri out of the box but i am not a 100% sure not to mention the board is very pricey for a 500$ budget
is that also with an fm2+ mobo? i've came up with this build now but if it isn't compatible than i'll have to go with another route... (if you like to have it in English i can put it in pcpartpicker:P) http://azerty.nl/winkelmandje/winkelmandje/?legen=1&product%5B647969%5D=1&product%5B565761%5D=1&product%5B670185%5D=1&product%5B613824%5D=1&product%5B582385%5D=1&product%5B629110%5D=1 (if i need to put it into pcpartpicker you can say it:P)
Not sure what you were trying to say? I did a google search and newegg.com is now selling the board you picked their with a updated bios that has Kaveri support out of the box. But that may not be the case with the site your buying off of. I would get in contact with them and ask if the motherboard you have chosen will support kaveri and if they say yes i would pull the trigger because that looks solid for what you need.
This Build is 500 almost on the dot, and for the price range it's what I would get:

You can save even more and skip the SSD, since you have an HDD already, you can also get a cheaper card like the 7850 if you don't need as much graphics power. I run a 7850 myself and it's still decent for today's gaming. Garry's Mod, Dota 2 will be about maxed and although i don't play TF2, i'm sure the card could run it well since I play Thief and Metal Gear Revengance on it.
For the $500 price range I don't really recommend an APU, You'll see better performance with this, and and for office/ general use apps the single core performance is actually on par with the FX 6300.
As to the APU question, I currently own a laptop with the A10-4600M. Despite this literally being the lowest-tier A10 APU, it can still game well if you don't want 1080p or ultra graphics. I recommend APU's to people who want all-around productivity with a bit of game on the side, because they're great value for the price.
With that being said, the APU's suck balls for high-end graphics and resolutions above 720p. I have to play COD: Ghosts and Battlefield 3 on lowest settings on 720p (AA off), and they're still hardly playable at times.
For what you want, a high-tier APU would do wonders paired with some high-speed RAM and a good SSD. That's my recommendation. :)
LOL my bad on the 32gb. I totally misread the storage size, it would fit though my 8.1 install was less i think, although it would be cutting it close.
This should do extremely well for what you want. Under your budget, with OS included. It should be very fast for everyday computing, and it will perform well on most games unless you want high resolutions. Since you plan on salvaging an old HDD for this build, I didn't include one.
