Is it just me or does this seem way off from reality?
A quick look at the article didnt provide me any numbers, they may be making "As many as we can!" and "Supplies are tight!". But all that might mean is that they sold all 3 of the pairs they made. Out of stock means nothing.
Seems like manipulative PR doesn't it???

Am I mistaken in how Apple works? Seems like a solid strategy. if something seems popular, more people will buy it.
Anyway, adding something else to the conversation. I suspect the "apple fan boyz" would be more vocal than others (just like any other tech enthusiast). There's probably a large mass of people just buying them quietly in the background. Some may even feel they're "forced too" with the lack of 3.5mm on the latest iphone.
No doubt a resonable percentage falls into that group...
