AIO questions

I currently have the Phanteks PH-DX12DX in my build {build is listed on my profile} and I am looking at upgrading to a AIO cooling unit. Currently under max load i am pulling about 45C {in OCCT} while under max load after 30 mins. Now to get to the point. I am looking at the Deepcool captain 240 or even the captain 360, will it preform as good at the Phanteks cooler i already have on? Or will it preform better? When I first built my P.C. two years ago {its been heavily upgraded since then} the Phanteks preformed better then any 120mm AIO so I decided to go with that and now I feel like its time to upgrade the cooling. Also does anyone have any AIO recommendations? I am looking for a nice AIO to bring down temps a little plus I am going to be upgrading the 6300fx to a 8370fx soon and I want to keep that nice and cool while OC'ed.

Newegg is having a sale on the Deepcool captain 360 in a few hours so if someone has any input sooner would be better. Thanks.

45C is pretty low for an overclocked FX in OCCT, be careful with the temperature reading of those AMD chips. They're not very accurate. When I was still running AMD FX, I used an Enermax Liqmax 240 AIO and was able to achieve stable 4.9 Ghz at decent temps. A 360mm AIO should give you enough cooling headroom to push your CPU pretty far.

Keep your existing cooler, the only AIO's worth considering are ones like the h100i, h105, h110 (plus their variants from different companies ~ nzxt etc) & they're all too overpriced imho.
You'd be better of spending that heatsink money on your cpu upgrade.

Yes, @deejeta is right. I forgot to mention that I upgraded to an AIO AFTER I upgraded from an FX-6300 to an 8350.
My 6300 was running 4.7 Ghz with a Thermalright HR Macho. Pretty good and inexpensive cooler.
But, a good AIO l, like a good air cooler, will stay with you through more then one build. I'm still using the Enermax in my X79 build (see my profile for details).
I can't say much about the quality of the Deepcool stuff because I never had one. What I can say though from my personal experience, is that Corsair, NZXT and Enermax have very decent quality and long warranties. And they are also reasonably quiet.
Yes, it's a bit more expensive then air cooling, but there is also more technology involved in it so I think that's fair.

I am planing on upgrading my CPU I don't know exactly when. I know AMD will be coming out with hyper threading of their own sometime next year and i may just push the 6300 and wait. But getting the 8370 fx now is also very tempting.

I am using swiftech h220 on my testbench. It replaced my H55 . Much better option in my opinion.
It has several advantages over rest of aios. It has a filling port and replaceable hoses, easy to adjust the length and if you like, you can use colored liquid with transparent hoses for some extra looks.
Also full copper radiator has good performance, especially with some good fans.

@ignx Is that the one that is expandable? Could you upgrade it with another rad and /or a GPU block?

@ChrisG Yes, is expandable.
Here ( http://www.swiftech.com/H220.aspx ) you can see a lot of useful information about it.
Check the Compatibility tab to see if you could have any issues with your case.

As @ignx said, you can change the tubes, the coolant and add other radiator.

Swiftech H220: Adding to the Loop

Very good option if you plan to expand it in the future.

Well, I was barely able to fit my Kraken X61 into my beQuiet Silent Base case, so that probably isn't an option.

I ended up getting the Captain 360 while it was on sale. I know its not the best but it will do what i want it to and it looks cool.

All I wanted is a decent AIO for now. Later on in my next build I fully intend to do a custom water loop.

I use a 140XL, and love it. It seems to handle whatever I throw at it (4.6ghz 5820k at 1.275v).
