Aftermarket power plug for x-star?

Hey guys new to the forum and I'm glad to finally be part of the club! Anywho I've been eyeing the x-star (DP2710LED) and have heard both from Logan and around the web that it's best to replace the stock power cable. I was wondering do they mean the power brick? Or just the "standard" 120v ac power plug everything in the history of the world uses that plugs into the power brick? Thanks for the help and I hope this hasn't been asked I couldn't find a search function.

From what I understand you just replace the cord with the Korean plug with the same type of cable that is used for a power supply. I am not 100% suure but my X-star recently just shipped when I get it i can give you an update if no one else here can give you an answer by then.

Sweet thanks! I'd love it if you could do that it would be awesome, also if it's not to much trouble could you tell me the rating of the cable? (how many amps, etc.) . Thanks again I appreciate it I hope you enjoy the monitor :)

No problem looks like it will arrive on this Wednesday or Thursday

Sorry I was out of town today so I didn't get this posted sooner. However my X-Star came in today and yes the plug that is used on a PSU works, nothing too special about it but I also found out my old monitor has the same cable so if you have a Power Supply or LCD monitor lying around somewhere that is not in use just use that cable instead.

Here is the cable in question:

Sweet thanks for the review! I appreciate it, the only reason I'm hesitant to buy is due to the extra graphics power that's needed to push 1440p. I appreciate all your help and I hate to bother you but is it possible to run games at 1080p? Logan said the monitor doesn't have scaling so I'm worried about that. Again thanks so much for helping me :) it's suprisingly hard to find reviews of the monitor let alone ones that go into much detail so I'm relying on you abit much!

Sorry for the late reply. What Logan said is right the monitor does not have a scaler built in. Any scaling that is done is handled by the GPU so yes you can play 1080p on this monitor but how it looks is personal preference. I would suggest keeping a backup moniter because of the scaling issue, in the event if you need to get into your BIOS as the moniter can't display it. Also don't worry about relying on me I am glad to help :)

Thanks again for all your help you've been awesome! I really do appreciate it as it's surprisingly hard to come by info and I can't read Korean. I feel like such an ass but would you happen to know the minimum amps required on the power cable? I've got a 10A 120v plug from an old dell but it's hard to be sure without English instructions. By the way is there +rep on Tek Syndicate you deserve it!

Edit: Just got the monitor it takes 10A so s'all good in that regard thanks alot for your help :)
