I’ve spent two evenings searching for this and came out empty handed.
I’m trying to split an 8k TV into four 4k monitors. Samsung’s built-in Multi-View functionality doesn’t allow multiple HDMI sources, so I need a hardware solution. The only ones I found are from the TV broadcasting world, and cost a fortune (ATEM Constellation 8k) and/or are basically made to order (Apantac MiniDE-4-QUHD).
Maybe I could build a small PC with a quad-input capture card (something like Blackmagic’s Decklink) and install multiview software on it (or just an OBS scene), but I don’t know if I can do it for under 1k€, which is my approximate budget limit since I could buy four UHD screens for that price (and achieve the same results).
Any ideas? Should I give up and go the quad-monitor route?
