Haven’t posted on here in a long time but thought you guys might be quite well clued up on this. I am looking for a monitor stand for 3 x 27" monitors. (about 4.1KG each) I am looking specifically for something quite solid that doesn’t wobble too much and don’t intend on moving the monitors very much. I was considering something from humanscale’s M10 range of monitor stands with their triple monitor crossbar but I haven’t found any reviews about them and don’t want to just throw hundreds of pounds away on something without hearing what people actually think of the monitor arms. I have attached images of the two I was considering from humanscale. If there’s any other recommendations that would be available in the UK I’d love to hear. (I currently have one with monitor arms from duronic but it’s not exactly steady and is quite wobbly with 3 monitors)
IMHO that clamp base looks much too small to support three large monitors connected to what’s basically a lever.
Do you have a sturdy wall nearby, rather than anchoring to a table?
I ordered a generic triple monitor stand with a large footprint from newegg, the footprint is about 24" wide, and the feet quite large. it’s sturdy but takes up a good chunk of desk space.
I bought it because it’s one of those expandable type, so you can combine a second one to have six monitors, or 2/3 smaller monitors above like a large 21:9 for example. But I never bought a second unit, and now they’re discontinued, so much for that idea.
That one’s not a clamp, it’s a through bolt, although not sure how much of a difference that will make, I see your point. Don’t suppose the one you got from newegg is possible to get in the UK?
It’s still clamping your work surface, with a very small area both top and bottom.
My stand was purchased close to ten years ago… the company doesn’t even exist anymore. There wasn’t really anything unique to it, it was one of those “made up” names that get, what’s the term, “badge engineered” to a white-box type product.
Think I’d ideally be sticking to clamping/bolt through solutions for max desk space. (although maybe a not as much deskspace as the humanscale would offer with it’s tiny surface unless anyone here has any positive experiences with a setup like that) Sadly the clamp/bolt ones on newegg uk with good reviews don’t seem to support 27" monitors. Although newegg seem to have a much better selection than other sites I have checked so might look into the ones that just sit on the desk with a large base if it comes down to it.
Humanscale is quality in my experience and I don’t think they they would mess around with a flawed mounting solution. I’d give it a try despite the seemingly small bolt-through solution.
Will keep that in mind and think I might try my luck with it. Seems quite appealing to have a 15 year warranty on the thing too. Probably won’t be buying anything probably for at least a month though. (currently in the process of moving into a new apartment and still getting work done, lockdown/social distancing doesn’t help either ) Will remain open to any other suggestions anyone else has in the meantime.
