Advice on a new monitor

I'm looking to buy a new monitor / TV. I currently have a 27" Samsung SyncMaster P2770HD, which is technically a TV, but a solid monitor as well (great colors, 5ms response time, 60hz, all the inputs you could ask for)

I want to get something bigger and better, obviously, but something that costs no more than 700 (with taxes). I do game a lot, and currently I have an AMD 7970 Ghz GPU. Although I will get the GTX 970 as soon as any retailer gets them back in stock.

Yesterday I bought a Sony Bravia 40" TV to use a display, and it turned out to be a really shitty idea. So today I returned it, and now I'm looking for a proper display.

I'm thinking about getting either one of the 28" 4k displays, which are both available at our local MicroCenter.

Either the Samsung ($600), which has some solid reviews on both NewEgg and Amazon: http://www.microcenter.com/product/432446/U28D590D_28_Ultra_HD_LED_Monitor

Or the new Lenovo display, which has no reviews but it's cheaper at $550: http://www.microcenter.com/product/434129/LI2821_28_4K_Ultra_HD_Monitor_with_Built-in_Web_Conferencing

I am leaning more towards the Sammy display because of all the reviews. Though if anybody have any suggestions for 1440p display, preferably a 32", I'm all ears.

Basically, here's what I'm looking for:

- larger than 27"

- higher resolution than 1080p

- minimal bezels (my current Sammy has massive and very hideous bezels)

- less than $700 (with taxes)

Thoughts?

well the thing is a single gtx970 will not be able to drive 4k at a smoothly game play.

It also depends on what you want, TN pannel for higher Hz, or ips / pls for better image quality, but less Hz.

decent 4k gaming is not a reality yet ...but they are getting there  ... next year maybe

Don't really care about 4k gaming, will downscale to 1080p in games if they can't handle it. 4k would make everything look better outside of games (text and edges in general). My current display is a TN panel, and it looks fine to me. Both mine and the 2 displays I'm thinking of buying are 60hz.

EDIT: side note - I don't care about viewing angles, I'll be sitting directly in front of the display so it's irrelevant.
