Advice on a new Computer Desk?

Not really sure if this is the best place for it (its kinda hardware thats a big part of a computer setup) but I am seeking advice on a new computer desk. The one I have is super cheap, falling apart, and really isn't designed for the amount of weight I have on it. Curious if you guys/girls have any thoughts or suggestions on good desks. I'm looking for something that has a pullout keyboard tray. hopefully something that can fit a large keyboard (like my G15) and a mouse pad. a space or rack to fit a fulltower case under the desk, I'd prefer a shelf of some sort but I can make my own, and most importantly, I need enough room for a 28" and a 22" monitor.

This is kinda the style of the one I have now and I do like it, just need something that wont fall apart with a couple hundred pounds of monitor, junk, and computer on it.

Thanks for what ever help you all can offer,
Ice

well what sorta budget are you looking at for this desk?

Well best thing you can do is go to your local lumber store and then buy the lumber u need and build one from scratch. Just make your to plan it out first

^^ I wanna do that so bad!

This is the desk I use.

It has a keyboard tray and you'll have no trouble fitting even a big keyboard on it. Not sure if your mousepad will fit on there as well, but I don't use the tray at all (I just keep everything top side).

It does have a space for your tower, but you'd be hard pressed to fit even a mid tower in there, and I hate those enclosures anyway. I like to let my machine breathe :P There is plenty of room under the desk however, and you'll still have plenty of leg room even with a tower and sub underneath.

It's a pretty sturdy piece of furniture as well. I have a hutch mounted on top which weighs at least 100 lbs, and it holds that, about 50 books, both of my monitors (both 24") and all of my other junk without so much as a wobble. I feel I could still stand on it and it'd be fine.

Add all that to the fact that it's 40% off (making it less than the one you posted), and I'd say it's the best desk you can get for the money. A word of caution: some (read: a metric ton) assembly required. It's very easy, it just takes a while. Also, this thing weighs like 175 pounds, which is good when you're using it, bad when you need to move it. It does break down into about 5 major components though, so you don't have to move the whole thing at once.

well if you can find a pullout tray take it cut the tracks off and remount and square them up on a board you can make the tray as big as you want.

Well the desks I've had in the past, it's a matter of how much room you have in the desk not the tray itself. I can make the tray bigger but notching out the desk to fit that larger tray is more than I want to do.

Under $300.

If I can't find one I will end up building my own, but I don't really have the time at the moment.

I can't really fit an L-shape desk in the space I have. And If I were to get something like that, I'd probably cut out the upper drawer and take the door off the tower enclosure. I'm not looking to hide away my computer but I like to keep it up off the ground. Looks like an awesome desk minus the fact I can't fit it in my room :P
