Advice for GPU

Hello all,

So I'm debating which GPU to buy as a much needed upgrade from my poor Radeon 5770. I have a Cooler Master v700 PSU and have pondered getting a 280x or 290x. I'm wondering if I should get something like the 290x or 780 Ti because I'm very doubtful that 700w could eventually handle crossfire 280x's if I needed to upgrade again. My goal is to get a card that will stay relevant at 1440p max settings and still get decent frames in new gen games. What do you guys think? Value wise, what would get the best value/performance and be able to operate on the v700?

280x crossfire on 700watt will be close, especially with a couple hard drives and some fans, I'd get a 780 ti because of how messed up the 290x prices are. Some are hitting the $1000 mark with custom coolers.

The AMD side is a bit inflated right now. Nvidia may be a better performer per dollar. The 780 non ti is also a great card to look at.

Do you think it could handle crossfire 270x's? Maybe I could get a pair of them while they're still cheap rather than a 780 or 290x

I have not tested the 270x's personally but I hear the non x version is almost as powerful as the x version. So double check into that a bit. Also, one powerful is way better and easier to use than SLI or Crossfire any day. Although Gsync should make it a bit better on the SLI side, but that is another story.

Dont count on crossfired 270x to give you consistent 780 results. Best just to get a 780 and oc it.
