Advice For Buying A Monitor

I'm looking for a monitor to buy within the US. Here are the specs I'm interested in:

* 8ms (GTG) latency or lower (down to 5ms GTG if possible)

* 1920 x 1080 or higher resolution

* Anti-Glare (matte) coating

* IPS, PLS or AH-IPS Panel type

* 20" to 27" in size, but around 23" to 24" is ideal

I'm looking for something below 160$. Any reputable brand with good warranty will do. (I've been having trouble finding reviews online that agree on what good anti-glare monitors within that price range are available, or just finding what 1080p monitors out there have anti-glare coating at all.)

It's mostly going to be for typing and browsing, but I'll be gaming on it a lot as well. No professional work intended, but I would like good contrast and color accuracy if that's possible. A thinner bezel is also nice, but not necessary. I don't have that much money to work with right now, but I'll be buying this monitor next week, once I get my next paycheck. =)

I don't mind buying a Korean panel, if I need to, as long as it's from Amazon and not eBay. I'm just waiting right now until 1440p monitor prices drop, but I can't keep on using my current 1280x1024 CCFL monitor that only has D-Sub. Anyways, if you guys can give me a range of options, I'd love to know.

(I am going to place my monitor next to the window, due to lack of other rooms to place it in my apartment. I plan to use my PC in the dark, at night, but I don't want daylight through the windows to keep me from gaming.)

Thanks in advance, guys.

I don't think 1440p monitors will drop below 160USD...

You could probably get a cheaper 23" IPS display from Acer, Asus, or BenQ for around ~$130

I would recommend looking into Dell S2340L 23" IPS monitors... I got a couple of them and am very very impressed. I do a lot of photo and video editing and it fits my needs. I also game too of course.

That one is over 200$ right now. The S2340M is around 150$ right now, and I may get one of those. =) Thanks for the tip.

I'm pretty sure they will, at some point. 4K is now around 800$, and will drop quickly. And as that happens, 1440p will drop even faster. I believe 1440p will be priced compared to 4K the same way 1080p is priced compared to 1440p in the near future. =)

I've seen some of those. But I haven't been able to find any information on whether or not there's an anti-glare coating on them or not. >.< That's why I wanted recommendations of specific products, not just brand names.
