As for development, what exactly would you like to do? Software? Web? Etc… I knew I wanted to do Web before I even got anywhere with the ability to write code… … I’m only asking mostly put of curiosity, plus if it is Web, I’m happy to share any knowledge or skills… Or tricks, etc…
I really like web development but I’m fascinated with low-level systems programming languages.
Over time, I like to redo things I’ve already created with better and more sophisticated techniques.
Currently, I’m re-doing my time tracker app I made. It used to use LAMP with JQuery, but I’m redoing it with Flask and sqlite.
To be a web developer is a great choice. To my mind if you are not enough confident you should study more and practice a lot and everything will be ok!)

For anyone who reads this and still looking for some tips:
Mentoring (pair programming): soak up that juicy knowledge and with a good mentor you will kick start your career.
Ask questions, even question that YOU can answer (self-reflection).
Have fun and don’t “accept” shitty environments.
