Advantages and Disadvantages For sticking with LTS versions

I'm using bcmwl-kernel-source

Broadcom WiFi has never played nice with Linux.

Seriously, get a USB dongle. It would probably be an upgrade anyway. That or use Ethernet.

@Kai
"upgrade"
I have the ASUS PCE-AC66U .. you really do not get better than a 3x3 MIMO 802.11AC adapter.. Yeah I have an old TP link 150N in my closet.. might pull it out and then see if I can try and find the problem in the bcmwl-kernel-source package

No matter the distro a Broadcom is bound to throw you a problem sooner or later on Linux it's sad to say.

If you look here you'll find ASUS don't use Broadcom on their laptops which sell with Linux:

Figures... I need to find a good atheros 3x3 card.. or intel is fairly good... Id like to take full advantage of my routers capabilities... just for the satisfaction that I can.. Oh well.. Ill report the bug and see if I can get another person to replicate it.. and maybe it can be fixed

Your attempt proved futile, grasshopper.

Haha dragonswordz it was a joke lols
