Additional fans?

So i have this project lianli, i was thinking about installing two 120mm intake fans near the video card to suck in air.

but im wondering if that'd interfere with the airflow of the case and give it deadspots.

what do you guys think?

something like this.

Make them draw air out of the case.. alot better that way

Have the side fans pull cool air in, your exhaust fan(s) - Power Supply - videocard will blow hot air out of the case.Â

Is there even a fan, or more then 1 fan in-taking cool air?

It doesn't make sense to me to have those 2 fans on the side pulling air out, it will create more dust build-up having the fans blowing inward but that's why they made dust-filters-

There is alot of hot air the gpu cant blow out, so making the fans draw hot out of the case would be best imo.

Making them blow in would just mess up airflow

Under normal circumstances you want the front & side panel fans in-taking cool air for positive air flow.

If anything I would try both orientations and monitor the gpu & system temps to see which does the better job-

why not just test it to see which gives better temperatures, and if its a measley difference have them blowing out - saves on dust ^^. now to answer your real question, i would if i felt it was running too hot, or holding back overclocks and if it could be done without looking cheap/naff.

If I were you I would flip them around and make the side panel ones push out the air...

i was going for intakes because i thought there was probably a reason why most of the cases i've seen with side fans were used as intakes. (antec 300, antec 902, cm 690, etc.)

I guess i'll maybe try to mount em with some zip ties first to see the effectiveness before drilling into the side door.
