Added a new HDD. Shows in BIOS, but not in Windows

I originally built my PC with just an SSD since I couldn't afford a HDD as well at the time.

Yesterday I got my new 1TB Seagate Barracuda and slapped it in thinking HDDs were just plug and play at this point. I also had no desire to partition or raid.

The HDD shows up fine as SATA 2 along with the 3K as SATA 1, but when I went to "This PC" (W8 version of My Computer) all I see is my SSD.

The most I could gain from the BIOS is that my SATA mode is ACHI, but other than that, Googling the issue has helped me in no way.

Oh, and my motherboard is an MSi Z87-G45, I really want to get this sorted so I'm no longer limited to 120GB.

Format the hard drive.

Look in the device manager. You need to format and map the drive with a drive letter and name.
