Can someone please explain how I go about installing achi drivers when installing windows as I have never bothered with this before but want to get an ssd.
I have looked all over the web but don't understand what to do when windows asks for the drivers. Do I put the drivers on a usb or put the disk that came with the motherboard in the dvd drive which would mean pulling out the windows cd? Just confused.
A simple step by step. Also I am assuming I enable achi in the bios when windows has loaded or before?
Thanks and sorry for the noob question
xp and below you need a floppy or CD with the Drivers on it and hit F3 its the "press F3 to load third party raid drivers" part at the very begining
for vista and up after you boot the setup and get to the part where the hard drive format options are, go to advanced options and there should be an option that installs raid/achi drivers
altenatively you can install on IDE and once windows is installed you can install the ACHI drivers and enable ACHI in the registry
Thanks for your help. I will try it out this weekend.
pretty sure you have to browse for the folder the DLL driver files are in not the setup file, just like manually installing drivers
