Access AmazonVideo/Hulu/Netflix etc without a rolu or firestick style device--is this possible?

I have a dedicated streaming device to access the listed streaming services and while it’s well supported, I’d like a device agnostic / “no-app-requied” way to view this content.

What really bothers me is that the G just dominates with unprecedented power and now has control over our DRM (or rather lack of rights) as the only way to view and enjoy this content. I don’t use anything except Firefox for this reason as ANY organization that has a 92% use rate is very unhealthy for the future of our Internet.

So two main questions:

Most important to me: Can I access ANY streaminh content without WV drm?

Also I’d like to stop using devices that make hundreds of millions just from forcing ads to me from services which that company shouldn’t have (but does) affiliation.

So can I access these services from a non-roku/amazon/G device, like a gecko or KDE/K-HTLM/webkit browser?

Yes. You need widevine to enjoy the HD+ streams but yes. It has been documented all over the internet.

Best bet is to grab an AmLogic set top box or sbc (Odroids are best supported) and run LibreELEC for one stop solution. Or do like me and just run ArchLinuxARM on it. That way you get mainline Linux kernel, a sub 10 watt TDP system, and it is air cooled so no noise.

Liber elec and ArchArm run widevine/DRM? My ‘buntu-mate-pi does not.

Do you reckon they would work with raspberry pi’s OOTB? Or would it take a fuller featured machine?

Obviously the pi plays YT well, just the plugin missing from browsers

LibreELEC compiles it into the Odroid/AmLogic builds. Libre is made with AmLogic optimizations. The Pi may be supported but I think it is missing the hardware encoder decoders that the AmLogic boards ship.

You may be better off running the RasPiOS now that they ship a 64bit version and it is running 99% mainline Debian Stable.

Well, for now, an xbox works, I just have to figure out all the different login again. Really it’s either, block MS domains, or unblock, and reblock roku domains.

Let through a couple MS domains, or go to the pi-hole and turn off blocking for certain adlists, or disable entirely, restart tv, reload program, then enable pi-hole again. Xbox is a lot easier. I just can’t yet fully switch over to it.

update: xbox has made it too complicated now. I used to be able to block everything, I believe even xbox sign in, and just use certain programs, but this has since stopped working. So I’ve gone back to thw roku and whitelist the logs and block it thereafter a program is loaded.
