AC to USB?

i want something that i can plug a Wall Socket into a USB on my Computer. Anything?

not possible. ac (depending on where you live) is generally 110 or 220 volts and is alternating current (obviously), usb on the other hand is generally 5 volts and opperates on direct current

theoretically you could wire a molex into a usb port and run an inverter off of that with custom wiring, but you would probably need an absolutly massive powersupply, besides it's pointless when you have the thing plugged into the wall

Im lost!

Can you explain what you want to plug into what, and to perform what function?

well, they do make usb phone chargers (that plug into the wall), but comps are not made to receiver power from usb

i believe he wants to plug something that would normally go into a wall into a usb port, to power it, atleast that's what i was going off of

ie. run a lamp off of usb power

It all depends on what he is trying to power if it has low enough input then it would be possible but we need more information on what it is.

Oh god I hope he doesn't try that.......Rule one about mains, if you have to ask, you should be doing it!

I thought he was thinking of stepping down mains AC to 5v DC

Give us more info OP, and don't kill yourself!
