About to get the zenfone2

My old samsung SII finally fizzled today. I was using it as a second phone to my sony Z1C

I'm in taiwan now, the zenfone2 can be had for 6000NT to 7000NT (~200USD). Before I go for it I was wondering if there are any other phones in it's price range I should consider? Not sure if there have been any interesting devices out since I saw the zenfone review on here.

Thanks for the tip. Looking through the list it seems as if the zenfone is still a compelling option.

I have one. It's a great phone as long as you have an external battery.

I have one as well. Really good for $200, although the speakers kind of suck.

Well been surfing around, as best I can(I can't read a whole lot of mandarin), it seems like the zenfone is my best bet for the price here and bonus I can put both my sim cards in it.

200 with currency conversions when you are across from china? I would think that night markets might have it cheaper?

I have the ZenFone 2 and really enjoy it overall. It does require a bit of fiddling to customize it how you'd like it. I've been having a few issues with app compatibility in the past few weeks, so I'm thinking I'll be rooting and installing some version of CM this weekend.

Has anyone else done this? Was the root and CM install easy and painless?
